How to choose the right SSD
Choosing an SSD starts with compatibility. Check the interface, form factor, supported PCIe generation and the capacity you need before buying.
NVMe vs SATA
NVMe M.2 SSDs use PCIe and are designed for systems with compatible M.2 NVMe slots. SATA SSDs use the SATA interface and are available in formats such as 2.5 inch, M.2 SATA and mSATA.
How much capacity do you need?
Choose capacity based on your operating system, applications, games and files. A larger SSD gives you more room for future growth.
Before you buy
- Confirm the motherboard or laptop interface.
- Confirm the physical form factor.
- Check the supported PCIe generation for NVMe drives.
- Compare performance, NAND type, endurance and warranty information.
