What Is TBW on an SSD?
TBW means Terabytes Written. SSD manufacturers commonly use it as an endurance rating representing the amount of data a drive is designed to write under specified conditions.
TBW is not a daily usage limit
TBW should not be treated as a guarantee that a drive immediately fails after reaching the stated figure. Actual service life depends on workload, drive design and operating conditions.
Why workload matters
Light office use generally writes less data than continuous video production, databases or other write-intensive workloads.
Use TBW with other specifications
Consider capacity, NAND type, warranty terms, workload and platform compatibility together.
